Event wrap up – Poetry League Episode 4

We’ve all noticed the leaves changing colour on trees, but if you were at Episode 4, you also would have noticed Word N Sound has undergone a change of its own.

We very proudly launched our new logo, designed by Kagiso Tshepe. You will notice, it’s cleaner and leaner, because, you know, simplicity and sophistication… We keep it pushin’

We also had our first disqualification of the year. The point of the our Poetry League is to challenge writers to write a new poem every month. We heard a poem we had heard a few years ago, and thus Maxwell Keeble was disqualified.

The other thing you missed out on was the crowning of this Months King/Queen of the Mic. This is significant because, surprisingly, the title was awarded to the poet who performed what could possibly be the shortest poem ever entered into the #PoetryLeague ever [we are trying to verify this]. When we went back to the video and audio recordings of the day and actually checked exactly how long/short the performance of the poem was we were surprised to discover that it took no longer than 1 minute!

Congrats to this month’s top 5

5. Bella. 4. Raymond. 3. Zewande. 2. Xabiso 1. Vuyelwa Maluleke

Ep 4 top 5 1
