Poetry Arts Programme: Mpumalanga highlights

Last month we kicked off our writing, performance and arts admin workshops in partnership with the Southern African Youth Movement in Mpumalanga. We got to meet 30 emerging writers for two days of learning and sharing. By the end of the session, they felt even more motivated to form a tighter bond with each other in hopes of building a strong community of poets in the province.

Three poets were selected to represent Mpumalanga at the National Arts Festival later this year. They also gave stellar performances at the closing dinner hosted at the Casambo Guest Lodge.

We are heading to Bloemfontein next. If you are in town, be sure to make your way to Bain’s Lodge on 15 & 16 March. There will be free transport from the Bloemfontein Civic Theatre at 08:00 each morning.
