Every year, we look back at some of the most moving works for the Perfect Poem Award and deciding on a winner is never easy which is why we need your help in determining who should walk away with this honour at the 2018 on 2 March.
We’ve shortlisted 5 poems that most remind us of Kojo Baffoe’s quest “to find the perfect poem, a gentle balance between word, rhythm and thought…a poem that sends the moon and sun dancing over the skyline hand in hand”.
Xabiso Vili: Reminder
Masai Sepuru: Lost At Sea
Mjele Msimang: What Is A Poem
Belita Andre: Untitled
KB Kilobyte: Being Black
Voting is open from Wednesday 13 February and will close at 20:00 on Sunday 24 February. You can cast your vote once and hour, so be sure to get behind your favourite to ensure they walk away with the award on Sat 2 March.
